Dementia Care: The Individual, the Family, and the Church
This program is for family members caring for loved ones with dementia, individuals with dementia – and others interested in this topic.
Dementia can have a significant and dynamic impact on individuals and their families. Changes in memory, problem solving, and communication affect family interactions in everyday contexts. However, living with dementia also offers transformational opportunities to reframe issues of identity and family caregiving. In this talk, Dr. Angela Roberts will share practical strategies for addressing communication challenges, exploring ways in which reframing expectations around communication and meaning can reduce caregiving burden and promote better quality of life for persons living with dementia.
Impact 75 is our congregation’s response to real-life concerns that our pastors are hearing from church members.
This is our second in a series of 75-Minute Vital Conversations. The first was on adult children with increased responsibilities for their parents. View it here.
