Meeting Christianity Again for the First Time

October 17, 2021 @ 8:30 am - 9:45 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:30 am on Sunday, repeating until October 31, 2021

What is Christianity? If you were to “start over” with the Christian faith, encountering it as if for the first time, what would you want to know? Where would you begin?

Participants in these three sessions will be invited to remember and share what they learned about Christianity growing up and how that formation looks to them now. What topics were covered? What were missed or avoided? Were questions and critical thinking encouraged? Did it emphasize beliefs (the head), experience (the heart), ethics (behaviors), or all three? Did your early faith formation adequately prepare you for your lifelong spiritual journey? How did it affect the kind of Christian and human being you are today?

Our goal is to help participants come to their own understanding of the faith of Jesus. We will keep the conversation contemporary and relevant, thinking about the Christian faith not only in terms of history and beliefs, but our personal spiritual lives and how we are to live in the world. There will be ample time for discussion. All questions and opinions welcome! Nothing’s off the table! (Really!!)

You are welcome to join us in person in the Centennial Room (masks required), or on Zoom.
