An event every week that begins at 8:45 am on Sunday, repeating until November 8, 2020
Mindfulness has emerged as a popular and effective tool for strengthening emotional resilience and increasing physical wellbeing. But what is mindfulness, and how is it practiced?
Irene Kraegel, author of The Mindful Christian: Cultivating a Life of Intentionality, Openness, and Faith, will present information about mindfulness over two sessions, introducing the definition, philosophy, science, and practice of mindfulness.
Participants will have an opportunity to try out some simple mindfulness practices, if they choose, and to share their observations with one another in the process. The sessions will be down-to-earth in tone, engaging both the hearts and minds of participants – a practical presentation of mental health tools that can be applied within the journey of spiritual discipleship.
The sessions will be Sunday, November 1, and Sunday, November 8, 8:45-9:45 a.m. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85411684152, meeting ID: 854 1168 4152, or call in: (312) 626-6799.
Dr. Irene Kraegel is a clinical psychologist and directs the Center for Counseling and Wellness at Calvin University, where she teaches mindfulness to students and staff.
