The Pandemic and the Church

The coronavirus pandemic is almost a year old. What has its impact been on the Church – Church with a capital “C,” not just our church?
On April 2, 2020, just three weeks after everything changed, the Rev. Cameron Trimble, CEO of Convergence, a non-profit organization that assists progressive congregations to be vital and relevant, wrote a remarkable article, “Ten Ways the Church Will Be Changed by COVID-19”
Eleven months later, how accurate were Trimble’s predictions? Are some things clear about how the pandemic will permanently impact the church? Are some things still to be determined? In what ways might the church have been “undone” by the pandemic so that God can be “undone” with us, inviting us to new ways of being church, not only for ourselves but for the world?
