11 Jan Hope is a Powerful Thing
As we move from 2020 and into 2021, I know there are hopes and dreams that this year will be different than last. But I also know that hoping can feel challenging as well, especially after the last year, and especially in light of what has happened this past week.
Hope is such a powerful thing, and one of our confirmands this past Wednesday reminded me how important it is to believe, because believing is part of what makes it possible to hope. So today, I simply want you to know that I believe.
I believe in God, and I believe that through God all things can be made new and used for good. ALL things. I believe in the power of light, God’s light. I believe that light is stronger than darkness and that darkness will never overcome God’s light. I believe in love. I believe that love will conquer hate and that love can, and will, change the world. One day, one act at a time. And I believe in you. All these and more are what I am clinging to right now. And it fills me with the hope I need to keep pressing forward, to keep believing, to keep sharing light and love everywhere I go.
