We asked our members and regular attenders what some of their reasons were for visiting Winnetka Congregational for the first time. And we put together this short list:

  • You’re looking for a place where you can feel like you belong, no matter what you believe or don’t believe, who you love, how you identify, no matter what’s in your wallet, no matter what your job title, marital status,  or what you look like….a place where everyone is welcomed wherever they find themselves on their spiritual journey.
  • Your dream church is one where questions are encouraged, conversations are welcomed, and where not everyone has to agree in order to get along.
  • You believe Jesus’ call to “Love thy neighbor” does not mean just the people next door—or on the North Shore.
  • You’re not a huge fan of denominational politics, policies and pronouncements and want a church that’s run by the people who actually go to it.
  • You want your kids to grow up knowing Jesus loves them and you want them to have a safe place to explore God and faith, their identity, values and spirituality.
