Children & Youth

Do your kids need a faith that sticks with them and helps them know they belong?

At Winnetka Congregational Church, faith formation is very important to us. We want kids of all ages to have the chance to learn what it means to be a beloved child of God and to follow Jesus.

One of the ways we do that is through “Sunday School” or “church school” for your kids, during the school year – weekly classes for grades JK through 6.

We also have a middle school group, a confirmation group and a high school group that meet weekly during the school year.  Each of these groups  are led by the pastoral staff with assistance from Safe Church Certified adult volunteers that we call Faith Guides.

Nursery care is also available on Sunday mornings year-round for children age 4 and under. (The nursery opens 15 minutes before worship each week.)

Children are always welcome to worship with their families on Sunday mornings. There are Children’s Bulletins, coloring sheets, and crayons in “Kid Bags” in the narthex. Children can also participate in worship as acolytes and readers. Worship is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Christian faith and be formed through prayers, music, and Scripture.

We also have annual seasonal programs for children and youth of all ages, not-to-be-missed experiences, including Blessing of the Backpacks, Rally Sunday, Bible Sunday, Children’s Gift Making Fair, Christmas Pageant, just to name a few.
