When Shelli Brown, our Church School Coordinator, and her husband first moved to Winnetka about 20 years ago and began “church shopping” they knew right away that Winnetka Congregational Church was the place for them because of how authentically welcoming it felt and because it was both firmly rooted in tradition yet also progressive – which to her seemed like the best of both worlds.
So, before Shelli became a valued member of our church staff, she was a long-standing member of our church, and an active volunteer, involved in everything from working on the Christmas Pageant and Gift Fair, to serving on the Design & Environment and the Children & Youth committees.
Raised as a Jehovah’s Witness, Shelli has always felt like she could talk to God from her heart. And she’s also always been a strong advocate for the rights of children. This love of God and children has led to her calling here at Winnetka Congregational, to help kids have the best possible start in their faith journey, and develop a faith that will sustain them throughout their lives.
Shelli lives in Northbrook with her husband Adam, and two children, Owen and Grace.
