Worship Where You Are

We don’t need to be in church to be the church.

One of the things we’ve been reminded of since March 2020 when our country began limiting large social gatherings to slow the spread of COVID-19 is this: being the church has nothing to do with being in a building together. Wherever and however we come together to connect to God, connect with others, show God’s love in the world and create community, we are being Winnetka Congregational Church.

Over the last year, we’ve been developing new ways of being the church for each other and with each other virtually, starting with streamed worship on Sundays, but certainly not ending there.  We’re continuing to develop more all the time. Because let’s face it, we live in a digital world as well as a physical one, and neither is any less “real” –  less meaningful or valuable – than the other.

We believe we are called not to be “church as it has been,” but the church in whatever expression and form that’s most needed in our world today. We hope you’ll join us as we discover where that calling might lead us. And if you have ideas on that, we hope you’ll share them.
